Bevel gearboxes are designed to reduce the effort on the steering wheel when opening and closing valves with a retractable and non-movable spindle. Gearboxes are installed on valves with corresponding flanges. Conical gearboxes are very close to cylindrical gearboxes, but they have one fundamental difference – conical wheels. This type of wheel has the shape of a truncated cone, on the side surface of which a thread is carved. The axes of the shafts on which the engaged conical wheels are fixed intersect in space. Usually the intersection angle is 90°, but it can be changed by selecting other wheels. The transmission of force from wheel to wheel is the same as in the transmission of a cylindrical gearbox. There can be only one gear in bevel gearboxes.
